Dean Atkins

Biography

Dean Atkins joined 400CM at the end of 2015 and is currently a Managing Director and Head of 400 Capital Management Europe Ltd. He serves as a member of the Investment and Operating Committees. Dean joined the Firm after integrating a structured credit consultant firm he founded, Kinson Capital into 400 Capital as their European operation. Dean has twenty years of experience across both European and U.S. securitized asset and structured product markets, on both the buy-side and the sell-side. At Kinson Capital he was Partner and CIO, focusing on European asset management mandates as well as valuation and risk advisory engagements focused on legacy securitized assets. Prior to Kinson Capital, Dean held a number of senior positions at ABN Amro Bank, including Head of ABS Exotics Trading and Head of Structured Finance Trading. In both roles he managed teams in London and New York, with responsibility for successful proprietary trading books. At ABN Amro he also ran European ABS Trading and Syndication helping to create the leading ABS franchise in Europe. Dean joined ABN Amro from Quadrant Capital where he managed two independent SIVs invested primarily in U.S. and European ABS, RMBS, CDOs and bank capital assets. He began his career on the U.S. RMBS desk at Abbey National where he managed portfolio investments in Agency ARMs, Non-Agency RMBS and Subprime RMBS. Dean is Founding Chairman and current board member of the Catalyst Club, a genetic cancer research campaign, and has a Master of Arts in Economics from Cambridge University.
